Hello, this is Kei.
I am going to explain about 「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」 in Japan today!
When searching for the place in Japan, copy and paste the words 「会員制ラウンジ」, leave a space, and then enter the name of the place where you are.
▼ What is「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」?
「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」 is a place where a female member sits next to a male member and they talk, eat and drink together, and all charges incurred are paid by the male member. The female members don’t pay any fees, but rather are paid a salary by the lounge, with some of them earning over 10,000 yen an hour. So far, it sounds like a dating bar that hires fake customers, so perhaps it would be better to say that it’s like an ” luxury club” with no entertainment.
In terms of business, they are very similar to 「KYABAKURA」 as well as luxury clubs, so if you are not familiar with them, you may not understand the difference. Moreover, outside of the Tokyo metropolitan area, there are some areas where big snack bars and mini clubs are referred to as 「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」, which makes things even more complicated.
In this article, I’ll explain in detail the characteristics of 「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」 and how they differ from luxury clubs and 「KYABAKURA」.
▼ Differences in services
Luxury clubs and 「KYABAKURA」 are establishments that involve “entertainment” such as female employees making water for customers, lighting cigarettes, handing out hand towels, etc. 「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」 are supposed to be places where female and male members meet each other by chance in there, and after they hit it off, they sit together and share food and drink, so they do not involve any “entertainment”. In short, the stance is that the female members are also customers.
At first, I was surprised when my friend took me there without telling me it was 「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」. Because I thought it was 「KYABAKURA」 when I went in. After we were taken to a luxurious private room that could seat about 20 people comfortably, I wondered why the girls came in with slightly larger bags. I asked the girl sitting next to me, “Why are you all carrying bags?” She said, “Because we have to pretend to be customers when the police come to check on us.”
At first, I didn’t understand what they meant and asked myself, “What the hell are these girls talking about? Could it be an illegal place?” But then I realized that 「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」 are also different from 「KURABU」 and 「KYABAKURA」 in terms of the type of business license they are licensed to operate because they are establishments that do not provide entertainment. They don’t make water, light cigarettes, or change ashtrays. Unlike 「KURABU」 and 「KYABAKURA」, there are no quotas or penalties, and all you have to do is sit down with the customers and have a good conversation. The female members are also considered customers, so there is no need to dress up, you can come to work whenever you want in casual clothes, and there is no need to give out your contact information to customers.
▼ Age range of the chicks working there.
The age range of the chicks working there is the highest in the luxury clubs, ranging from early 20s to late 30s. By the way, the oldest “Mama” in the club I have visited was 74 years old. Of course, she was the owner “Mama”, but I remember that she was full of vitality that belied her age, and I really enjoyed talking to her. The age range in 「KYABAKURA」 and 「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」 is almost the same, from early twenties to late twenties.
▼ Attraction of 「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」
It’s just my personal opinion, but I think the attraction of 「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」 lies in the outstanding level of the chicks, or rather, it’s the only way to go. It is true that some lounges have spacious sofas like hotel lounges or airport lounges, but these days, there are many luxury 「KYABAKURA」 that have spacious seating that rivals that of 「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」.
So, if I had to describe the attraction of 「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」 in simple terms, it would be “a place where you can have drinks with incomparably beautiful chicks”. There are certainly many beautiful and cute chicks in both luxury clubs and 「KYABAKURA」. But in some clubs, there are also some ugly chicks in the group. However, in the establishments in Roppongi, Ebisu, and Nishi-Azabu that I have visited, there was not a single woman like that, and all of them were really beautiful. Some of them were gravure idols, models, race queens, and talent rookies, and I was amazed at their titles.
▼ How to serve customers in 「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」?
「KYABAKURA」 have a one-on-one style of service, where one woman serves one customer, but in the case of 「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」, one customer may be served by several chicks, just like in luxury clubs. 「KYABAKURA」 do not have a “Mama,” the face of the club, but many 「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」 do.
▼ Price of 「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」
The prices at lounges vary greatly. There are ordinary lounges in the countryside that charge as little as 3000 yen for a 60-minute all-you-can-drink drink. There is even 「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」 in Tokyo that charges 5,000 yen just for a 60-minute set. So it is always better to check the prices on the website before entering an establishment. By the way, when my friend and I went to a bar in Ebisu, Tokyo, we didn’t keep a bottle, we didn’t drink champagne, and we both drank several glasses of beer and wine each. We had paid 200,000 Japanese yen for two hours.
There are nine main types of 「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」 fees, but I’ve tried to summarize them for clarity.
①Membership registration fee (first time only)
Free~20000 Japanese yen
②Annual membership fee (once a year)
Free~10000 Japanese yen
③Set fee (60 minutes)
3000 Japanese yen~50000 Japanese yen
④Extension fee (30 minutes)
1500 Japanese yen~25000 Japanese yen
⑤Nomination fee
1000 Japanese yen~5000 Japanese yen
⑥Drinks and food charges
1000 Japanese yen~
※Some of the more expensive champagnes can cost up to 500,000 Japanese yen per bottle, so be sure to check the price before you order.
⑦Private room usage fee (VIP room usage fee)
20000 Japanese yen~50000 Japanese yen
※Some establishments charge a separate fee for the set, so be sure to check before you use them.
⑧Service fee
15%~30%
⑨TAX
8%
So that’s the breakdown of the fees. I should add that when extending your stay, it may be a little cheaper to extend your stay with a nominee than without, so it might be a good idea to check beforehand.
Also. This is just my feeling, but if you go to a place where the set price is around 20,000 Japanese yen instead of an expensive 「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」, and if you don’t drink or make them drink fancy, you can usually enjoy yourself for around 50,000 yen per person. That’s about the average I’ve seen so far. However, there are a lot of chicks who want to meet sugar daddies and become their mistresses at 「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」, so if you find a woman you want to seduce, you can easily take her home or make her your mistress by showing her your financial ability.
▼ What is the customer base of 「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」?
In a normal lounge in the countryside, anyone can enter as long as they have money, so there are many different types of customers, but in 「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」 like the ones in Tokyo, even if you can get in, you have to go through a screening process to become a member, and you can only become a member if the lounge decides that you are suitable for them.
Perhaps it was because of this reason, but I felt as I went out for drinks several times and looked around, that there were many wealthy people who could afford it. They were relatively young, in their late 20s to late 30s. I’ve seen celebrities, sports players, and even the president of a famous IT company. So, is the customer base good? I think it’s still not as good as the luxury clubs. There’s nothing wrong with acquiring wealth at a young age, but it’s a different matter if you have dignity. After all, there are many crude people.
And I heard from a girl who works at 「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」 that the more prestigious people in society use different types of lounges, so if they want to entertain their clients in a business mode, they go to an “luxury club”. If they want to have a drink in private, they choose 「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」. That made sense to me. The chicks working in lounges were not suitable for entertaining because they were not expected to be good conversationalists and it was difficult for them to be sensitive and attentive.
▼ Dress code in 「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」
It’s not as strict as luxury clubs, but it’s better to wear at least smart casual attire; you won’t be refused entry even if you wear a T-shirt or jeans, but avoid wearing anything too casual, as it might make you stand out and embarrass yourself in a dignified interior.
▼ People who is suited for 「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」
- Want to talk to model and celebrity eggs.
- Think that looks are everything for chicks.
- Financially strong and love to play with chicks.
- Can forgive a lack of civility in a beautiful chick.
- Prefer to seduce amateur chicks, not professionals.
- Serious about finding a mistress.
- Don’t like chicks who dress up.
- Prefer to go to a place where there are “Mama”, but it should not be as intimidating as 「KURABU」.
- Want to have a drink in a private room where the privacy is protected.
- Want to relax for a long time on a large, comfortable sofa.
▼ People who is NOT suited for 「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」
- Looking for a place that can be used as a place to entertain people, where the attention to detail and consideration is perfect.
- Want to have a quiet drink at a place where the client is mainly in their 50s and 60s.
- Don’t like chicks who are unprofessional in the customer service.
- Have no money, no time, and no room in my heart.
- Want to touch a chick’s body in the establishment.
- Not good at talking with young chicks.
▼ Characteristics of unwanted customers in 「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」
- Have a bad drinking habit and is verbally abusive.
- Filthy, the breath smells bad, and the body has a strange odor.
- Touch the chicks’ body.
- Invite the chicks to a hotel every time.
- Too quiet to have a conversation.
- Always preaching.
- Bragging all the time.
- Refuses to let chicks order food or drinks
- Persistently tries to get private information from the chicks.
▼ Where is 「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」 at?
If you count the areas where big 「SNACK」 and mini clubs are called lounges, there are probably more than 10,000 lounges in the entertainment districts of Japan. However, when counting only 「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」, there are only about 70 lounges in the Tokyo metropolitan area, and they have been confirmed in Nishi-Azabu, Roppongi, Akasaka, Ebisu, Ginza, Aoyama, Shinjuku, and Kinshicho.
▼ Summary
How was it guys?
I think that 「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」 should be used differently. If you want to entertain an important client, I would go to a luxury club, but if you want to have a casual drink with your friends, you would go to 「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」 or 「KYABAKURA」. Also, rather than being easy to pick up, I think it’s easier to know if you can pick up a chick or if you can have sex with her if she works at 「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」 rather than a luxury club or 「KYABAKURA」.
The reason is that luxury clubs and 「KYABAKURA」 are always thinking about how to get customers to come to the establishment and spend money, while trying to get them into the mood and play games with them, but the chicks who work in 「MEMBERSHIP LOUNGE」 don’t have to try hard to sell themselves, so they treat customers in a very natural way. That’s why you can tell right away if she is interested in you or not. Especially when the chick proactively asks for your contact information instead of you, you might find it surprisingly easy to have sex with her. haha
See you guys later, that was Kei!
